Crocodile Helps Kid Eat Vegetables!
Unbelievable but true! Faced with a tiny mouth that had been clamped shut with a vise-like grip, I had to resort to a clever trick to get my kid to eat her cucumber slices. It is a secret that you too can use, and it not only works with vegetables, butwith other items that are low on your kids' favorite tasty food list. On the topic of Crocodiles, I have run into both boys and girls embroidered clothes which feature our reptilian friend. Vive la Fete offers both in their spring line, and they can be found at Maison de Belles Choses.
The girl on the left is the vegetable-refusing culprit. She is wearing the Vive la Fete Alligator Embroidered Dress with a virtual river of alligators everywhere. I know, alligators, but I prefer saying crocodile. The boy on the left sports the Vive la Fete Crocodile Shortall. Both of the outfits are embroideredon blue and white checked gingham.
The trick? I just picked up the cucumber at one endoff the plate, made a swimming motion towards the kid, and said, "Please, Crocodile, don't eat me! I'm just a little fish, please don't eat me Crocodile!" I have never seen a child go for a veggie that fast. And the smile! A crocodile smile, naturally!To be sure, this should work with a kid around 2 1/2 to 4. I haven't tested it with anyone older. If there is someone out there who can try this out above four, let me know how it goes, OK?
Funtasia Too has a boys blue seer-sucker shortall with tiny golf bags. They are delicately placed all over, so the effect is subtle, but not too subtle. It would be perfect for Spring and Summer, just add or subtract a short or long-sleeve shirt.
