Planes, Trains and Automobiles.  Who here remembers that movie from the 80's with Steve Martin and John Candy?  It was pretty successful.  At the time I was travelling quite a bit so the attraction of the movie was a little lost on me since it was just like my life.  Where was the escape?

I know you won't believe me when I tell you that those modes of transportation can be found on boys smocked clothing!  It's true.  And not without reason.  The attraction here seems innate. Our 6 month old went right for the truck on the floor, as natural a move as grabbing a breadstick and stuffing it into his mouth or taking a spoon full of food from your hand and dumping it.

As for the Trains, Carriage Boutiques has a red boys romper that fits the bill.   Blazing across the front are a four-car line of trains from engine to caboose.  This would also work as a Christmas outfit since of course trains can be found under the tree at that time.

Bailey Boys (made in the U.S.A.) has a light blue corduroy Romper smocked with, you guessed it, a trio of Planes.  The material is very soft but durable.

Anavini brings up the rear of the transportation-themed outfits with a race car overall complete with some colorful autos.  It is made with light beige corduroy, an excellent crisp autumn day outfit.
