Smocked Christmas Clothing Time!
Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 09:23PM Believe it or not, the Christmas season is fast approaching. Wait, scratch that... we're at the point where Christmas outfits for pictures and family events must be ordered is fast approaching. I don't think I'm ready for anything other than that just yet!
Everyone is so used to kids dressing like bleahthat even a bit of sprucing-up can elicit gasps of admiration and smiles. Case in point: Last December we walked to Macy's (Wanamakers) Department Store light showin Philly with our daughter dressed in a red coat similar to this one from Rothschild... you would be amazed by the positive reactions! Of course, that is hardly the point for dressing the kids up, unless you groove on that sort of thing. For us, we just like seeing her wear great-looking clothes, as one might enjoy looking at scenery or architecture or art.

With toddlers or kids who can deny that a huge part of the Chrismas season is taking them to see "The Nutcracker"? And how better to build anticipation than with the Vive La Fete Smocked Nutcracker Jumper for girls? The smocking portrays a ballerina, a Christmas Tree, and some presents. For brother of course there is a matching longall and romper. Vive La Fete has really done a wonderful job with their offerings this year.

The Bois de Rose Smocked Christmas Stocking Longall has a quartet of stockings hung by the chimney with care. This longall comes complete with red covered buttons on white sleeves. As usual, the quality of Bois de Rose never disappoints.

The Little English Smocked Reindeer Dress comes with a trio of reindeer theborder of beautiful Christmas lights both on top and below. The material is red corduroy with green trim on the collar and bubble short sleeves. Of course, there is a Smocked Reindeer Longall for boys.

Everyone says it's important to be more Green these days. We couldn't agree more! And what better time than around Christmas? As you can see from the above, red has the upper hand for color. Fortunately, the Carriage Boutique Santas Sled and Reindeer Dress makes it's magical appearance above the rooftops to help withthe effort. Not only that, but there are matching boys longalls and boys shortalls.

Just when you're thinking it's not easy being green, the Anavini Smocked Stocking Green Bishop Dresspresents itselfto show you it ain't so hard. People, please, some balance!

But if you must go red with Carriage Boutique, take a look at the Carriage Boutique Flying Reindeer Dressto get some action-oriented smocked clothing. As "theDress" in aspecial Christmas portrait it was a huge hit withall the important people in our daughter's life.

Speaking of Anavini, for those whose special Christmas vision does not include smocked scenes but rather pretty designs, there is the Anavini Velvet Rose Smocked Dress. It features covered buttons on the bands and down the back.It is fully lined.

Since we started with a kids' overcoat, it seems only fitting that we close with something for the boys. To keep the little rascal warm in classic style there is the Rothschild Boys Navy John John coat. This is a wool coat with leather knot buttons, no fooling around here. This is like the jacket worn by a certain President's son way back when in the early 1960's for a famous photograph. No clues will be given as to his identity!
