Bebe Au Lait
Out and about in the world, new mothers who breastfeed have a dilemma - baby wants milk now, but how to do it in public where everyone - the mother and bystanders - feel comfortable? After two months or so, the veteran mother, faced with her baby's urgent need for milk, is likely to throw caution to the wind and just go for it, beyond the point of caring who sees anything or not.
But why put yourself in that position when you don't have to?

Bebe Au Lait has come up with a solution! Imagine a sort of cape with a wire support bent just-so that will enable you to cover up, maintain visual contact with both the world and the little one and feed the baby. Then, with a simple tug of the top rings, a sweep of the cloth and Voila! baby is fed, modesty is maintained, the Bebe Au Lait folds quickly into your purse and you are on your way.
The Bebe Au Lait comes in 19 different designs and retail for $35 online. I was going to say "eye-catching" designs, but maybe I should rephrase that as "chic and contemporary, but not terribly attention-getting." That must be by design.
Here are some examples:

Incidentally, Bebe Au Lait goes by another name: Hooter Hiders. Why the two names? I believe it must have something to do with a natural reluctance for some major department stores to carry anything with the "H" word. Makes sense to me. They are entirely the same product, though.
I would categorize this with the Neatnik Saucer - great ideas that elicit the thought... "This is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that?" So guess what? There are other ideas just like it out there - start thinking!
